Synopsis.
I began as a postdoctoral researcher in the Franz Lab in January 2015, and am working on the systematics, phylogeny, and morphology of Coleoptera. My interests within Coleoptera are broad, but I am focused on conducting taxonomic revisions within the families Phalacridae, Cryptophagidae, Dasytidae, and Trogossitidae (Rentoniinae). I have also performed a higher-level molecular systematic study of the superfamily Cleroidea while at Palacký University in Olomouc, Czech Republic; results of this study are in preparation. At the Franz Lab I will also be heavily involved in developing an ontology-based representation of beetle anatomy.
